- Most importantly, stop what you’re doing and breathe deeply and slowly for 3 minutes.
- Inhale the aroma of lavender or chamomile essential oil.
- Apply 2-3 drops of essential oil of lavender or chamomile at the tip of the nose, temple and/or the soles of the feet while gently massaging into skin.
- Drink chamomile tea or valerian tea.
- Drinking orange flower water will also help calm your nervous system.
- Keep cotton balls soaked with a few drops of essential oil of lavender or chamomile in your car and desk drawers and their aroma will help you keep your stress levels down.
- Other foods that help reduce stress are: the diverse variety of lettuces and cabbages, dark chocolate, pistachios, walnuts and milk (especially with chamomile and valerian tea).
